Meet Our Staff

Born in 1996 in south of Brazil, she began her ballet studies at the age of 10 at the Bolshoi Theater School in Brazil. She danced alongside great ballet stars like Ivan Vasieliev and Natália Osipova. And rehearsed by great masters like Vladmir Vasiliev.

In the year of 2014 she made a special season at Salzburg Landesteather - Austria, dancing Swan Lake.

After 8 years of training, she joined the company Bolshoi Brasil where she stayed for 5 years, dancing around the country. Since 2016 she professionally teaches students of all ages until today. Besides her master dance skills she teaches theoretical and practical courses in all formats including workshops.

KIM LEE DOBIES comes from Lighthouse Point, Florida. She has been dancing since she was 3 yrs old and teaching for over 40 years. She is trained in many dance styles, including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Comedy, Pointe, and Modern. Still, she emphasizes a strong balletic and technical background for all her dancers.

While training under Fred Danieli (principal dancer for George Balanchine) he gave her love for ballet, and great understanding of the need for a strong core foundation. Kim holds a BFA in theatre from the University of North Carolina (acting directing concentration). She was in the original cast of AMERICAN WAY. While living in New Jersey, she performed in many dinner theaters and TV commercials.

Kim has earned both international and national recognition as a dance competition judge for STARPOWER, STARQUEST, and DANCE MASTERS OF AMERICA. While living in Ohio, her studio competed, winning many regional and national titles.

Many of her students over the years have gone on to many successful careers as Dancers, Actors and Singers. (BILLY in BILLY ELLIOT, WEST SIDE STORY, CATS, CHORUS LINE, CIRQUE DE SOILE, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, cruise ships, captain of DOLPHINS Cheerleaders, DISNEY, ROCKETTES.) She also directed a professional Tap Company" SOULtoSOLE performed in Florida. Kim is an award-winning choreographer, costume designer, and Master class teacher who teaches all ages.

KELLY STASHKO spent 25 years running, directing, instructing, choreographing, and designing costumes for her own dance studio.

Many of her other achievements include choreographing for male dancers, body builders, Mad Max Allen’s country music video, the Piper High School show choir, the Synergy Project Glee Club, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts’ Performance Project Summer Camp 2011, 2012, and 2013, and the annual Flamenco performances by Angeles Gitanos from 2009 to 2012.

Scottie is also a yoga student and teacher, and loves to share his passion for the healing arts, especially through the magical, holistic practice of Thai Massage

He discovered his love for performance through theater camps at the age of 11 and then dabbled in some dance classes. He was fortunate to study ballet on scholarship at the Metropolitan Ballet Academy, where he was introduced to Modern and contemporary dance. Performing in choir and the school musicals was a huge love of Scott’s adolescence along with community theater productions. Throughout high school, Scott was able to study contemporary dance at various summer programs including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, the Juilliard School, and American Dance Festival. He attended the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, which was an extremely empowering and creative environment for his abilities to thrive under the incredible guidance of NYC dance legends. He has been teaching and dancing professionally in Pennsylvania, Oregon, and recently South Florida. He feels so fortunate and excited to have the amazing community at JJ’s Dance Studio and strongly believes in his ability to help guide students in their healing and empowerment and development of strength, confidence, joy, and self-love. You can catch him in class at JJ’s teaching Hip-hop, Contemporary, and heels and floorwork.

Mikela Orenzow is a remarkable dancer whose passion for the art form has driven her to excel in the competitive dance scene for over a decade. From a young age, she exhibited an innate talent and unwavering dedication to dance, which propelled her to numerous victories on the competitive stage. Mikela’s journey in dance was not only marked by her commitment to her craft but also by her thirst for knowledge. She eagerly sought opportunities to learn from some of the most renowned figures in the dance world, participating in master classes with celebrated dancers from both the silver screen and Broadway. These experiences enriched her technique and artistic expression, making her a standout performer in the world of dance.
Today, Mikela Orenzow has transitioned her passion into a fulfilling career as an instructor at JJS Dance Studio. Her expertise, honed through years of competition and learning from the best, now benefits a new generation of aspiring dancers. Mikela’s commitment to her students mirrors her own journey – instilling in them not just the technical prowess required for dance but also the dedication, discipline, and artistry that define the true essence of this captivating form of expression. As both a former competitive dancer and a mentor at JJS Dance Studio, Mikela Orenzow continues to contribute significantly to the vibrant world of dance, inspiring and nurturing young talents to reach their full potential.

Amanda Somers started dancing at 5 in San Diego and performed in “The Nutcracker” at age 8. A move to Florida disrupted her dance journey. In 1996, she joined Olympic Heights High School’s dance program, became a dance captain, and further trained at The Dance Centre of Boca Raton. Concurrently, she studied fashion production and classical piano. After high school, she moved to Tampa, where she taught dance and designed costumes. In 2008, she pursued a fashion career in New York City and contributed to charity events. Today, Amanda is a mother and a dance instructor for toddlers and tweens.
